CITY RELEASES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) COMMUNITY FACILITY PROJECTS - The City of Tucson's Housing and Community Development (HCD) department is accepting proposals to support Community Facility projects. Those projects advance the City's People, Communities, and Homes Investment Plan (P-CHIP) goals by providing educational, health, recreational, social activities, and services for low-/moderate-income people. The goals also facilitate health, recreational, safety, or other eligible infrastructure activities in predominantly low-/moderate-income areas of the City of Tucson. Eligible applicants include City departments and nonprofit organizations. Applications are due on or before Monday, Feb. 13, at 11:59 p.m. The City will hold a virtual pre-proposal conference Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 2:30-4 p.m. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend. The pre-proposal conference will be recorded and uploaded at the top link below for on-demand viewing within two business days following the event. Email questions to [email protected]. Responses to all questions received will be posted on the website each Monday. HCD will not respond to individual emails.

YOU'RE INVITED TO NEXT WEEK'S 2018 PARKS AND CONNECTIONS BOND OVERSIGHT COMMISSION MEETING - More than four years ago, City of Tucson voters approved Proposition 407: Tucson Delivers Parks and Connections, a $225 million bond package for capital improvements via General Obligation bonds. Approved on Nov. 6, 2018, the bond funds are dedicated to improving City park amenities (playgrounds, sports fields, pools, splash pads, and recreation centers) and connections (pedestrian pathways, bicycle pathways, and pedestrian and bicycle safety). This Tucson Delivers program is monitored by 11 members of the public appointed to the 2018 Parks and Connections Bond Oversight Commission (PCBOC). The commission will hold a hybrid meeting on Monday, Jan. 23, at 5:30 p.m., at the Parks Administration building's Mesquite Room (900 S. Randolph Way) and via Zoom. If you wish to address the PCBOC, email Leticia Flores at [email protected], or call (520) 885-9009 with your full name, mailing address, phone number, the topic you wish to address, and if you would like to be added to the email distribution list for future notifications and updates.
