EL PUEBLO COMMUNITY SAFETY HUB SEEKING SUBMISSIONS OF 2D ART OF ANY MEDIUM - The new home for the City of Tucson’s recently created Community Safety, Health & Wellness (CSHW) Program is in the El Rio Neighborhood Center, 195 W. Irvington Road, Building 15. It will function as a space of confluence and collaboration to solve some of the big challenges our community faces. As such, CSHW is seeking works of art that will inspire empathy, empowerment, and excitement. While there is currently no theme being sought, pieces that show the beauty of our Sonoran Desert home and the communities that live here will be appreciated. Any size piece will be considered, as there are some large spaces available, although physical weight of the piece and necessary infrastructure to display it will be a factor. Selected art will be displayed for at least three months. All pieces should be ready to hang with wire or proper hardware. Any potential buyers will be put in direct contact with the artist. The City of Tucson will be hosting an open house during the week of Jan. 16 (details to be determined), which all artists are invited to join. Digital submissions or a link to an artist’s work can be emailed to [email protected], or call (520) 488-3795 for more information. Artists are asked to deliver their pieces on Jan. 12 or 13, from 8-10 a.m. or 4-6 p.m.
