From: Concordia Summer FestivalConcordia will hold its 143rd Summer Festival from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28, in the Lund Care Center back yard on the Concordia at Cabot campus, located at 134 Marwood Rd., Cabot, PA 16023.
The Summer Festival will feature a picnic lunch starting at 12:30 p.m., live music from the Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band beginning at 1:30 p.m. and a traditional worship service at 4 p.m., featuring guest preacher Rev. Barry Keurulainen, a retired pastor, 18-year Concordia Parent Board Member and lover of all things Boston sports.
A car cruise will also be on site from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Our chef has created a delicious menu featuring popular summer picnic entrees – Rotisserie-style bone-in chicken breast, BBQ pulled pork sandwich, smoked brisket platter, cheeseburgers and hot dogs. Dinners are $10 and include two sides, dessert and a beverage. The Quick Tent will offer burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and grilled chicken breast sandwiches for $4 each. Food tents at the event are cash only.
A fishing derby for kids 12 and under will highlight the children’s activities from 12:30 to 3 p.m. At the pavilion, a caricature artist, crafts and games will also keep the kids busy from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Each child is entitled to one free drink and one free food item.
An open house will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Haven I (112 Marwood Rd., Cabot, PA 16023) to tour our retirement living community on the Cabot campus.
The entire event is open to the public, and admission is free.
