Last week, Congressman Steven Horsford appeared on CNN and condemned House Republicans’ budget, calling it the “Screw America Budget” because of its steep cuts to Medicaid and other programs in exchange for billionaire tax cuts. His remarks followed 17 hours of debate in the Ways and Means Committee where the Congressman offered various amendments to protect Nevadans against the bill’s dangerous cuts. 

Trump’s budget could kick 13.7 million people off their health care, according to analysis from the Congressional Budget Office. This will negatively impact hundreds of thousands of hardworking Nevadans and wreck the state’s healthcare landscape. 

The Congressman delivered a warning to the Nevada Legislature when he addressed its members earlier this year. His words may have fallen on deaf ears as the Assistant GOP Nevada Senate Leader proclaimed Trump’s destruction of Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare is “fair game” as part of Republican efforts to pass Trump’s tax cuts for billionaires and giant corporations.
