Greetings!

A great way to help Connecticut's birds is to speak out on important environmental issues being considered in Hartford.

Several times a year we send alerts asking you to let your elected representatives know how they can vote for bills that are good for conservation.

It's easy.

If you want to participate, click here to sign up to get Action Alerts via text.

We're planning our Action Alert strategy now and will let you know when the time is right.

We've submitted testimony on several bills so far. Click each one to see where we stand:

"This pesticide kills pollinators and birds. It’s time to further restrict its use."

"Rat and mouse poisons also kill hawks and owls. Connecticut Audubon supports banning 2nd-generation rodenticides."

"Single-use plastics are a hazard to birds. This bill will reduce the problem."

You can also keep up by subscribing (for free of course) to our blog, Natural Selections. Thank you!

Homegrown Habitat: This month's feature is a beautiful shrub that produces fruit that birds love.

Read Homegrown Habitat here.

Schedule Change for Young, Gifted and Wild About Birds: One of our presenters, Allison Black, is a seabird and sea mammal observer on the North Atlantic.

Her sailing dates have changed however.

So we've moved Allison's presentation to March 2, switching her with Mikko Jimenez, who is now scheduled for March 16.

If you haven't signed up yet, the place to do so is right HERE.

It's inexpensive and all the proceeds will go directly toward improving our sanctuaries.

Thank you!
