Government and Politics
January 11, 2023
From: Cranbury TownshipDear Cranbury Residents,
We held our first regular Township Committee meeting last evening. We honored Troop 52 Scoutmaster, Tim Brennan, for his 40 years of scouting service and 10 years as Scoutmaster! Many folks in town know Tim as Scoutmaster, but others know him as a coach, teacher, hiker, photographer, or summer recreational camp director. Thanks to Tim for his many years of mentorship and leadership for young men in Cranbury.
Also at last night’s meeting, we reviewed 2023 goals. These include supporting the Board of Education as they embark on their referendum construction, welcoming new businesses to town, completing the re-surfacing of Plainsboro Road, and installing an ADA-compliant half-mile walking path in Village Park. We’ll also be driving a project to install consistent signage around town, including gateway signs. We’ll also continue to deliver on bike safety network action items and Sustainable Jersey items. Finally, we will be continuing our outreach with neighboring towns and the county on regional flood resilience strategies and regional truck management strategies. Above all, the five Township Committee members are committed to delivering municipal services in a transparent, consistent fashion that aligns with the priorities of our residents.

As you may have heard, the Cranbury Public Library had the Grand Opening of our new building on November 19. (If you haven’t stopped by, you really must!). The building is spectacular with cozy study nooks and a fireplace to read by, and ample meeting rooms. The CPL team is excited for the many possibilities that the new building will afford us, and we look forward to bringing you exciting speakers and events in the new year.
