MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ - The Crowdstrike worldwide tech outage hit the county like elsewhere and the Cyber Security Incident Response Team from the IT Department was quickly activated around 1am (July19) and the team worked through the night to resolve the problems in the data center on the servers first. Once the data center and servers became functional again, IT addressed all county PCs that might still be encountering problem. The “fix” required a boot of the PC into Safe Mode or the Recovery Console. Chief Information Officer, Nathan McDaniel said “The resolution was something that could not be performed remotely, and each device needed hands on configuration changes to apply the fix.”.

By 6:30am. the County Data Center was 100% back to normal. All servers were back online and functioning normally. Many county PCs may have received “the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)” error message and would not boot properly without an IT technician touching the device and fixing the problem. IT techs were immediately dispatched to employees this morning having any problems and return all functions “to normal.”

A scheduled election workers training session for Friday (Juy19) taught by Elections Director Allen Tempert took place as scheduled and County Recorder Lydia Durst also said, that all inperson early voting locations were “open and properly  functioning.”
