ACE Awards
June 17th at the Norwalk Art Space
The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County is proud to host the annual Arts & Culture Empowerment Awards, celebrating individuals, organizations, and businesses that have made significant contributions to the Fairfield County community through arts and culture. ACE Awards will be held on June 17th at the Norwalk Art Space at 6pm. Honoring Special Guest: James Naughton and many other artists and cultural organizations in our region. Celebrate the power of art, culture, and community as we recognize leaders who make a lasting impact in Fairfield County.

Trace Burroughs who has been a part of the Fairfield County art community off and on for many decades and exhibits has dedicated his time to writing songs. He started out as a drummer performing extreme stunts to get attention: Arms on fire, drum set exploding, draping the World's largest T-shirt on a building in Manhattan and breaking Guinness Book records for marathon drum soloing. He is now a versatile singer and prolific songwriter. He has 110 original songs in 5 different genres. Artist Reception for Linn Cassetta at the Westport Book Shop. Linn’s egg-themed works -featuring four encaustic prints and a stunning mixed-media piece—explore the egg as a powerful symbol of life, peace, strength, and fragility. A lifelong creative, Linn began her career in fashion before transitioning to interior design and fine art. She holds a BFA from RISD and an MA from the Royal College of Art in London, and is a proud member of the Artists Collective of Westport.

browngrotta arts presents Field Notes: an art survey, Opening & Artist Reception Saturday, May 3 | 11 am-6 pm. Fiber art is having a moment. It’s “the new painting” according to Art in America. In Field Notes: an art survey (May 3rd -11th), browngrotta arts in Wilton will provide a high-level view of this medium, informed by the gallery's 30+ years specializing in the promotion of art textiles and fiber sculpture. More than four dozen accomplished international artists will share what’s on their minds, what’s on their looms, and what’s inspiring their art process, just as the art form’s popularity crests.

A.C.T. of CT is now accepting applications for the 2025 Posthumous Prodigy Productions Fellowship Award—a $30,000 grant honoring the memory of the extraordinary Bryan Gallace of Southport, CT. Created by Caroline Kellen and supported by the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation, this prestigious fellowship celebrates Bryan’s legacy by empowering a new generation of emerging musicians—across any genre—to create bold, original work. Under the guidance of A.C.T. of CT’s Resident Music Supervisor Bryan Perri, the fellowship offers not just funding, but mentorship and artistic support.

The Carriage Barn Arts Center and The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce are seeking artists to showcase in New Canaan store windows, and to participate in a downtown celebration of the arts. Artists may submit up to three pieces which may be selected for display and sale in one of New Canaan’s premier retail windows.

OUTwork explores issues of gender, LGBTQ life, love and relationships, family, social justice, bias, personal stories and perspectives, pride, current issues of 2025, etc. Artists need not be gay, lesbian, nonbinary, or transgender to participate. Allies welcome. All artists are invited to submit jpegs of their work for consideration by May 10, 2025. Artists will be notified by May 24, 2025.
