Women’s Sekere Ensemble

Founded by Omomola Iyabunmi in 1988, the Women’s Sekere Ensemble is a group of percussionists dedicated to making West African traditional music a resource for communities.

Live pottery demonstrations and art-making activities

Enjoy live pottery wheel demonstrations from ceramic artisans from The Clay Studio, and learn how to make prints and simple clay pots under the guidance of teaching artists
Dance
Sattriya Dance Performance
12:00–12:30 pm
The Sattriya Dance Company tells the story of Sattriya, a 500-year-old dance originating from the Vaishnav monasteries of Assam, India. The company uses dance as an agent of change to spread messages of peace, equality, love, and universal brotherhood.
Three Aksha
3:30–4:00 pm Experience the graceful choreography of Three Aksha, a Philadelphia-based dance academy that preserves and promotes Indian culture and heritage through classical Indian Bharatanatyam dance choreography.
