From: Palm Beach State College - Lake Worth CampusCybersecurity professionals, academic experts and student ethical hackers will examine the latest cybercrime threats and the career skills needed to stop them at Palm Beach State College’s Fall 2023 CyberWeek Conference, Oct. 23-27 at various venues on the Lake Worth campus, 4200 Congress Ave.
The weeklong conference features seminars, workshops, demonstrations and competitions with the goal of building cybersecurity connections, exchanging information, and expanding awareness of current and emerging cybercrimes and solutions. The activities are designed to engage PBSC students in problem-solving as they work with professionals, faculty and students from other institutions to form alliances for a stronger and more prepared cybersecurity workforce to address the demands of a constantly evolving cyber threat landscape. A STEM Expo, themed "Bits, Bytes & Beyond," will cap off the week with an interactive mix of workshops and career explorations for college and high school students.
The public may attend one or more days of the CyberWeek Conference in-person, and some events virtually, by registering at www.palmbeachstate.edu/events/cyberweek-conference.aspx. Those interested in the in-person STEM Expo on Oct. 27 may register here.
Earlier this year, Palm Beach State College was named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security. PBSC offers a cybersecurity pathway that includes associate and bachelor’s degrees and certificates. Students typically start with a two-year Associate in Science or Associate in Arts degree that builds the technical foundation necessary to enter PBSC’s two-year Bachelor of Applied Science degree program in Information Management with a concentration in Security and Network Assurance. People who have a degree, or need a faster route to employment, may choose from a variety of short-term College Credit Certificates.
