Dallas Dia de los Muertos Largest Community Altar in the World
Dallas Dia de los Muertos - The Largest Community Altar in the World celebrates the beloved cultural tradition of remembering loved ones who have passed on. The largest community altar will be installed on the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge. The Bridge spans 2,105 feet long and crosses the Trinity River and will be decorated with traditional elements including a welcoming arch, Mexican motif paper banners, flowers, and lights. The festival will feature traditional cultural expressions including danza, music, Catrina exhibit, photo selfie station, food vendors, and arts & crafts activities.
The two-day event will be held on Friday, November 1st from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and November 2nd from 12 noon to 10 p.m. There will be a $5 admission fee for adults, however, there will be no admission fee for youth. Tickets may be purchased at www.vivatexas.vip. All youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Free parking is available at the Felix Lozada Gateway Park, located at 3118 Gulden Lane (bridge entrance). Additional paid parking will be located within walking distance. The community is invited to install their altar and ofrendas and should sign up at www.vivatexas.vip. Volunteers are needed and may sign up at www.vivadallas.vip.
