From: Dare County LibraryAddiction and recovery is a matter that touches so many in our community. The Dare County Library is pleased to announce a greatly expanded selection of books for individuals and families on these subjects. Most of the newly purchased books are geared toward the general reader, the person in recovery or their family members.
If you don’t already have a Dare County Library card, attaining one is free for anyone who owns property or lives in Dare County. Simply visit your closest library location during business hours to apply for a library card. Public libraries are a safe space for individuals to receive any information they are seeking confidentially from a friendly, helpful and non-judgmental staff.

Our new online catalog is now easier to navigate than ever. Search for keywords and phrases such as substance abuse, therapy, self-help, treatment, trauma, recovery, codependency and healing.
The new "browse virtual shelf" option in our online catalog allows you to easily "see" titles that are similar to those your search retrieves. Remember that any book within our library system can be sent to the library location where it is most convenient for you to borrow.
