LEGO Free Play
Mondays, May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 4 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon of free play where you can build with LEGOs to your heart's content. We provide the LEGO pieces and you can provide the imagination.
Ages 5 to 12. No registration required.
Family Movie Matinee: Lilo & Stitch
Friday, May 5th, 4 p.m.
Have some popcorn, courtesy of the Children's Library, and bring the family for a matinee movie! Rated PG. Runtime: 85 minutes.
Ages 3 and up with caregiver. No registration required.
Food Explorers: Dessert Tacos
Tuesday, May 9th, 4 p.m.
Level up your cooking skills with a registered dietitian while building up knowledge about food and nutrition that will impress your friends and family. Participants will make delicious Dessert Tacos in this hands-on class.
Ages 7 to 12.
April Showers Bring May Flowers
Thursday, May 11th, 4 p.m.
Use a variety of craft materials to design a spring landscape full of beautiful flowers.

Let's Pretend! Theater for Preschoolers

Young children will explore singing, acting, and movement to experience the magic and make-believe of the theater as an active player rather than a passive participant.

Children's Theater Workshop: "The Tortoise and the Hare"

Who wins this race? The fast but lazy hare or the slow but steady tortoise? You may already know the answer, but come to the library to hear this classic fairy tale before acting it out with costumes and props.

Butterfly Suncatchers

Create your own butterfly suncatcher using colorful tissue paper and your imagination!

Build like Maya Lin
Wednesday, May 17th, 4 p.m.
Learn about the incredible Asian-American architect and artist Maya Lin! While a student at Yale, she designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. We will take a look at some of the architecture that she has designed over the years before designing our own sculptures.

Tiny Food Explorers
Tuesday, May 23rd, 11 a.m.
Participants will make a tasty treat in this engaging class. All snack ingredients will be nut-free but they may contain dairy.

Storytime at Cherry Lawn Park
Wednesdays, May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 10 a.m.
Join us for outdoor storytime, where we'll wiggle and laugh along to action-oriented books, fingerplays, songs, and rhymes that focus on early literacy skills. Please bring a blanket or towel to sit on. Co-sponsored with Darien Parks and Recreation.

A bilingual Storytime with a mix of books, rhymes, and songs in both Spanish and English.

Outdoor Baby Laptime
Starting May 9th, Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m.
Join us for fingerplays, songs, and bounce rhymes in this lapsit storytime in the courtyard!
Pre-walking babies up to 18 months with a parent of caregiver.
Outdoor Toddler Storytime
Starting May 9th, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.
Join in the fun at Toddler Storytime in the courtyard! This storytime will feature fun songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and stories.
Ages 18 months to 3 years.
Joy Blooms Music & Movement
Friday, May 26th, 10:30 a.m.
Join singer/songwriter Joy Blooms for a fun mix of original children's songs and classic favorites.
Ages birth to 5 years.
