The verdict is in: National Democrats don't see any pickup opportunities in North Carolina in the 2026 election cycle for any of North Carolina's 10 Congressional seats held by Republicans.
In an announcement on Wednesday, April 9, the DCCC said:
Today, the DCCC announced House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle and launched nominee funds to raise money for their eventual standard bearer in each district, signaling Democrats are on offense and poised to win the majority in 2026.
None of their "In Play" districts are in North Carolina.
Turns out, North Carolinians overwhelmingly support President Trump's America First policies, meaning the DCCC won't even bother trying to win any new seats here.
By contrast, the NRCC is firmly targeting NC-01's Do Nothing Congressman, Don Davis to grow the House Republican majority.
"When Republicans flip NC-01 next November, Republicans will hold an 11-3 advantage in North Carolina and add another vote for President Trump's America First agenda in Congress," said NCGOP Communications Director Matt Mercer.
