You Made a Splash with Summer Reading

More than 4,000 people registered, and 1,000 people completed the Summer Reading Challenge – All Together Now! You read 15,600 books, logging nearly 700,000 minutes of reading. Thank you to everyone who participated and congratulations to the finishers! This was the first in-person Summer Reading experience since fully reopening after the Covid-19 pandemic, and we were so happy to see the enthusiastic turnout.

Join Our Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Team

DeKalb County Public Library is one of the only public libraries in Georgia to sponsor a team for the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl, a reading competition for all readers in grades 4-12. Attend our info session on August 24 at 6:00 p.m. to learn about teams, practice schedule options, and more for the January 2024 competition. DeKalb Library Foundation provides t-shirts, books, and other supplies for the team. Click here for more information.
