From: Delray Beach Public LibraryDear Library Friends,
Have you seen our new mobile app yet? Aspen LiDA is an app for iOS and Android devices that integrates directly with the Delray Beach Public Library's catalog, making it easy to manage your library account, put items on hold, discover new titles in both physical and digital formats, and even check out books at our circulation desk using a digital version of your library card.
The app expands the library's offerings of digital eBooks and audiobooks with over 11,000 items, some of which are only available through the Palace Project. Read more about the project HERE.
If you have questions about how to get started with these apps, or about any of our digital collections, please know that our library staff members are here to help.
Wishing you a great week,
Ben Kon

Ms. Tea, Ms. Fernanda and Ms. Lovely facilitated the Library on the Go program last week, celebrating “Global Music & Group Games” which featured stories and children’s music hailed from around the world! Ms. Lovely got our bodies warmed up with an interactive song in Creole, Ms. Fernanda lead an interactive Spanish-English story time and finally, Ms. Tea lead an international story and played multicultural group games with the group of young friends in attendance. Stay tuned for more opportunities to enjoy our pop-up library with Library on the Go!
The 1,000 books before Kindergarten program is a great way to introduce books and early literacy to your children. The concept is simple: Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Introducing your child to books prepares them for success in school and gives them a head start in language development, learning vocabulary, and basic concepts. The Children’s Department at the Delray Beach Public Library will help you reach this goal by providing you all the books you need, giving you a log to keep track of the number of books read, incentives when your child reaches a milestone and once they have read one hundred books, they will receive a keepsake journal, courtesy of the Elks Club members who generously donated funds for this program. This past Thursday, we signed families up for the program and checked progress for those who had already signed up after the children enjoyed a story time and craft.
