From: Delray Beach Public LibraryMay is National Small Business Month! Your library has a variety of valuable resources to support your small business, as well as entrepreneurs & job seekers.
The library is more than just books, we have 20+ windows computers with internet and Microsoft office suite 2016 installed. Black & White and Color printers, a black & white copier, a scanner (to email or USB) and even an outgoing fax machine! We also have 2 small study rooms for 1-2 people and 1 large study room for 3-12 people.
We offer a variety of computer training courses throughout the year. Our basic classes are offered from September to May, with advanced classes available all year round in our Technology Training and Innovation Lab – come check out the glow forge and 3D printers!
The library subscribes to a variety of business databases:
- Business Insights: Essentials - Company and industry intelligence, financial reports, and news designed to accommodate the research goals and workflows of a diverse business research community.
- Business Plans Handbook Series - Search hundreds of actual business plans compiled by entrepreneurs seeking funding for small businesses. Includes templates, fictional business plans, and a listing of organizations, agencies, and consultants.
- Demographics Now - a wealth of highly detailed demographic data on more than 24 million U.S. businesses and 206 million consumers.
- Reference Solutions - Find valuable sales leads, conducting market research or competitive analysis, and provides an avenue for businesses to do effective marketing & outreach.
- Statista - Here you will find everything from quick statistics to comprehensive reports, covering information on over 80,000 topics, collected from more than 22,500 sources internationally.
In addition to some other of my favorite databases:
- BrainFuse HelpNow for a learning center and writing lab.
- BrainFuse JobNow for those looking for resume, interview, and career advice.
- Gale Courses for those looking for professional development and personal enrichment.
- Mango to immerse yourself in language learning for more than 70 languages.
Check out our business services page Here for more information or to book a one-on-one appointment with a librarian for a tailored approach to these resources, a librarian is the original search engine.
