From: Delray Beach Public LibraryDear Library Friends,
I want to take a moment to tell you about one of my favorite digital resources here at the Delray Beach Public Library, Hoopla Digital. If you haven't had the chance to try it out yet, Hoopla offers thousands of eBooks, audiobooks, digital music albums, movies, and more to stream or download on your computer or mobile device. This is all free with your library card and the items are automatically returned from your device once the due date arrives.
Personally, I'm a fan of the Great Courses Audio series and find that their 30-minute lecture format is perfect for listening while doing the dishes or driving to work. As busy as we all get sometimes, being able to learn about Ancient Civilizations, 20th Century Music, or Quantum Mechanical Theory while doing mundane chores is a big help.
There are plenty of great fiction authors on Hoopla as well, and everything is immediately available to check out to your device. Recently, I've enjoyed works by John Irving, Milan Kundera, and Ruth Ozeki, all of which were very good.
To get started with Hoopla, download the app on your mobile device or go to hoopladigital.com. You can also find the link on the library's resources page as well as our eBooks page, where there is a full tutorial for getting started. If you get stuck, know that our librarians are always happy to help you make the most of these resources.
Have a great week and we hope to see you soon!

Co-hosted on November 23rd by Ms. Tea (DBPL) and Veronica Green (DB Children's Garden) in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church's parish garden, the "Library on the Go- Soil, Sunflowers & Glorious Gardens" story time & puppet show promoted community pride and sustainability as little learners, were educated about the properties, life cycle and environmental benefits of sunflowers! Families also enjoyed a sunflower nature craft, planted sunflower seeds in the garden beds, and received a free copy of our featured story, Miguel's Community Garden to take home! Special thanks to all who participated, including Ms. Linda and Mr. Montre who secured the church garden space and shared its significance with us, and Library Board Member Ms. Angela Burns, who participated as an advocate for our library and the Delray community as a whole!
