Thursday, September 14th, 2023

10:00 am-2:00 pm: Cycling with Hincapie

Work up an appetite with one of the most recognized cyclists in the world, George Hincapie, as he leads a 30-mile ride that starts and ends at Hotel Domestique in Travelers Rest. After the ride, refuel with a gourmet lunch prepared by Chef Haydn Shaak and wine pairings from Mission Grape while you savor stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

12:00-2:00 pm: Sum-Day Funday

Khailing Neoh & Orchid Paulmeier will team up to bring some diverse flavors to your palate with this dim sum-inspired lunch at Sum Bar. You’ll enjoy four different courses with cocktail pairings while you explore the uniqueness of Asian flavors and the art of dumpling making.

Spark your taste buds when the complex flavors of a bold red wine pair with the rich sweetness of a chocolate truffle. 6:00-10:00 pm: Songwriter’s Recipe

We are euphoric to present an intimate “behind the scenes” event featuring legendary songwriters Tim Nichols, Jesse Lee & Chris DeStefano. Between these songwriters, they have written songs for Tim McGraw, Kelsey Ballerini, Brett Young, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, and many more. Hear the stories behind the songs you’ve been singing along to while noshing on bites and sipping specially crafted cocktails!

6:30 pm: By the Starlight

Earning their first Michelin star in 2021, El Cielo (one-star, Washington, DC and one-star, Miami), joins the team at the recently opened Patterson Kitchen + Bar in the acclaimed Hartness Hotel. Known in the gastronomic world as “Juanma”, the Columbian-born chef received the first Michelin Star in history for a Colombian restaurant. Get ready for a whimsical experience as you are taken on a carefully crafted menu that taps into all of your senses paired with wines from Wine Access.

Step inside Fork and Plough where Chef Shawn Kelly welcomes 2023 James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef: Southwest, Chef Andrew Black of Grey Sweater (Oklahoma City). The Jamaican-born chef will bring his culinary talents to collaborate with Chef Kelly, known for his use of fresh, local ingredients, on a menu without boundaries. 10:00-11:30 am: Oh Shucks!

Oh shucks, are you a seafood enthusiast looking to learn more about oysters? Never fear, The Jones Oyster Co. is here! Join us for an interactive sip and shuck session at this new lively restaurant addition to downtown Greenville. You’ll enjoy one of their popular oyster shooters, along with bubbles, as you add a new seafood skill to your belt in a class taught by the oyster-shucking pros!

11:00 am-3:00 pm: Pedal to Picnic

This bike ride to picnic is the perfect way to explore the Greenville community we know & love. You’ll begin your guided bike tour at Reedy Rides and travel along the Swamp Rabbit Trail as you explore the sites of Greenville, ending your journey at Topsoil Kitchen. After the ride to Travelers Rest, you’ll sit down at a community table to enjoy a chef’s picnic with refreshing beverages. Once full, you’ll head back to downtown Greenville on your bike, but don’t worry, it’s electric! This is the perfect way to spend your Friday afternoon!

Tucked not too far outside of Greenville, get away for an afternoon picnic at Sassafrass Flower Farm. You’ll also take a tour through the garden where you’ll get to handpick seasonal favorite florals and take home a happy handful to commemorate the afternoon.

Welcome to Society, where the broth is hot and the pours are generous. Join us as you get an in-depth view of local ingredients courtesy of the 2023 South Carolina Chef Ambassadors. This class will celebrate locally-grown produce alongside a food demo, with tastings of course, at the Culinary & Hospitality Innovation Center. To top it all off, you’ll tour the neighboring Six & Twenty Distillery and sample a cocktail, or two, while mingling with the chefs!

The Michelin Experience:

5:30 pm Michelin Meet & Greet |  7:00 pm Dinner

Get ready for a true Michelin Experience, right here in Greenville! Emma Bengtsson (two-star Aquavit), the first Swedish woman to hold two Michelin stars and only the second in the United States, will collaborate with the incomparable Fredrik Berselius (two-star ASKA), on a Scandinavian style menu paired with show stopping wines from Wine Access. This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that is not to be missed.

Chef Michael Kramer is teaming up with his culinary friends Wally Joe, Michael Smith, Jose Salazar, and Miles James on a menu inspired by their respective techniques and years of friendship. We are bringing the party once again to Fluor Field! Get ready to party inside of the (baseball) park with live music from local favorite, Steel Toe Stiletto. Learn how to create fresh bratwursts with Chef Bill Twaler in this hands-on classroom! Under Chef Twaler’s expert eye, you’ll walk through the process of grinding, stuffing, and cooking your very own backyard brat. To top it all off, the CHI team will have pretzel buns, housemade mustard, and sauerkraut for you to add as you enjoy your fresh creations while sipping on a cold brew compliments of Carolina Bauernhaus.

Get ready for nothing but the finest at this master class in caviar and Champagne pairings. The Wine Access team will impart some delicious knowledge as you savor every epic bite & sip. Step inside The Whale and learn about the versatility of beer. This guided tasting will explore bites celebrating traditional Caribbean flavors courtesy of Sofrito Latin Restaurant. From plantains to mofongo, each bite will be paired perfectly with a cold brew. It’s time to sample, sip & enjoy!

2:30-4:30 pm: Hey Macarona

Transport yourself to France for an afternoon by stepping into Le Petit Croissant for a macaron class with Chef Vincent Caradonna. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the technique behind these delicate French pastries, and of course you’ll get to take some home as well. Traditionally, it’s challenging to get just the right consistency for these sweet meringue-based desserts, so this is a rare opportunity to learn from an expert!

Step inside Vault & Vator and embark on a journey south to explore different agave liquors. It will be as if you are dining at four different Michelin-starred restaurants at once when Matthew Kammerer (two-star & Green-star The Harbor House Inn), Josiah Citrin (one-star Citrin & two-star Mélisse), Ryan Ratino (one-star Bresca & two-star Jônt), and Charlie Mitchell (one-star Clover Hill) collaborate to create an unforgettable menu. This dinner is your chance to experience a once in a lifetime meal—with wines to match courtesy of Wine Access—executed by some of the best chefs in the business. Join us as Chef Jimmy Norris of Southern Culture Kitchen & Bar hosts a pair of 2023 James Beard Award semifinalists, Chefs Dayna Lee and Jessica Shillato, for a show stopping menu. They’ll be accompanied by a performance from Kami Ocean & the Rhythm, with a setlist highlighting women through the decades. With wine pairings to boot, these culinary and musical enthusiasts will serve up a meal and a performance that will astound!

2:00-4:00 pm: Knead to Know

With so many sweet, savory, spicy, and salty food pairings, bread is one of the most simple, yet wonderful, foods known to man. Join us at Camilla Kitchen for this hands-on class as we go back to the basics: homemade bread baking. The all-female crew will walk through ingredients, techniques, tools, and anything else you might knead to know!

2:00-3:00 pm: Cast Away

The cast iron pan is a staple anywhere–but especially in the Southeast. In this educational classroom at The Cook’s Station, you’ll learn the foundations of cooking seafood in cast iron pans, along with tips and tricks that are sure to level-up your next session in the kitchen. You’ll also taste some fresh bites right from the pan, which are sure to give you an appetite for more cast iron cooking.

2:30-3:30 pm: Breaking Bourbon Boundaries

Bourbon—it’s not just in Kentucky! The team from Oak & Honey will teach you all about bourbons that are expanding outside of the Kentucky lines. At this class, you will listen, learn, and taste as the pros talk you through these woody, spicy, & sometimes sweet spirits that are breaking the normal bourbon boundaries.

3:00-4:30 pm: Paella & Porróns

¡Paella y vino! Join us for a wine seminar at The Community Tap that explores Spanish wines and the well-known Spanish dish, paella. A mix of rice, vegetables, and seafood, this classic dish courtesy of local Paella extraordinaire, Daniel Lopez, will pair perfectly with a Spanish wine served in a traditional porrón. As you sip and sample, you’ll learn more about the history and aging process of Spanish wines & cuisine.

The cherry atop a sublime weekend full of good food, good wine & good times moves to Greenbrier Farms for a laid-back Southern meal, courtesy of Certified South Carolina. The 2023 South Carolina Chef Ambassadors will team up to produce an unforgettable meal, featuring South Carolina-grown products, paired with specialty crafted cocktails, beer, and wine, all in conjunction with Table 301 Restaurant Group.
