Songwriters Emily Anderson and Ryan Bowers gather with some of their friends to share their music and the process behind their craft.
7:00pm-9:00pm: FSAF Chorus Concert - Free at Davis Concert Hall
Join Director Byron McGilvray as he leads his talented singers through a musical journey that spans varying eras, nationalities and styles. Welcome in this year's festival with one of the best concerts that you will hear all year.This opening concert is free of charge to the community, but donations are more than welcome.

Join us for 'Building Blocks' by Corvus.Immerse yourself in an engaging family concert presented by the FSAF New Music Ensemble, Corvus. Discover the diverse sounds produced by each instrument and experience their harmonious blend. Activities will involve composing melodies, exploring rhythms with body percussion, experimenting with various percussion instruments, and an instrument petting zoo. Members of Corvus include Fairbanks-raised Katie Cox on flute and Andie Tanning on violin, with Alex LoRe on saxophone, Eleanor Norton on cello, and Joe Bergen on percussion.

After being coached and staged by outstanding opera coaches including Timothy Cheek, University of Michigan, Richard Novak, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Corey Trahan, Texas Christian University, and Jaunelle Celaire, University of Alaska, Fairbanks, this performance gives participants and instructors an opportunity to perform live.Come watch our emerging stars shine.

4:00pm-6:00pm:Composing in the Wilderness - $10.00 - Davis Concert Hall
Take 8 composers. Guide them through the wonders of Denali National Park. Lock them away for five days and have them pull random instrumentation out of a hat and then tell them that they have to create a new piece of music. Then give Corvus the challenge of learning eight new pieces in 3 days. It sounds like a formula for chaos, but every year it yields magic.

Join the American Roots Faculty and Registrants at Silver Gulch for an evening of laughter, songs and stories as these amazing instructors show off their immense musical talents.
7:30pm-9:30pm:Barrelhouse Blues: Malemute Saloon: - $15.00 - Malemute Saloon
Ragtime comes to the Malemute! Ethan Leinwand and Miss Jubillee bring music that contains elements of ragtime, boogie-woogie and early jazz-all with a low down blues feeling-that is designed,first and foremost, to keep 'em dancing.
8:00pm-10:00pm:Jazz Finale - $10.00 - Silver Gulch
There's nothing quite like the Big Band! Kyle Athadye and Greg Johnson lead the band through eras and styles as Jazz is proclaimed at the Silver Gulch.
8:00pm-10:00pm:TonglenTunes Ron Drotos
Pianist Ron Drotos will be playing selections from "The Great American Songbook," in musical styles from pop to jazz.
