From: Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown

Greetings!

For over 50 years, creative breakthroughs have happened in our studios and writing spaces. As poet John Murillo observes, "if you sit quietly enough, those things will kind of insist upon themselves."

The streets and landscapes of Provincetown carry the collective wisdom of generations, from Helen Frankenthaler to Louise Glück and from Eugene O'Neill to Stanley Kunitz. In our historic buildings, artists and writers encounter what Executive Director Sharon Polli calls "good ghosts" — a legacy of artistic discovery that makes FAWC unique.

What makes this place extraordinary isn't just our history — it's how we nurture artists and writers today:

  • Complete creative freedom, with no requirements or expectations
  • The rare combination of solitude and community
  • Commitment to both visual arts and writing
  • The inspiring landscape of Outer Cape Cod

Your support is crucial in nurturing this creative sanctuary. Will you consider making a year-end gift to help us continue our mission?

Donate: Support Creative Freedom

Together, we sustain what our founders understood — that art requires freedom and care to truly flourish.

With deep appreciation,

The FAWC Team

P.S. Your gift, no matter the size, is vital to our ability to steward our 40,000 square feet of live/work space in Provincetown. It's through your support that new creative legacies begin.
