Summit will bring together 700 leaders from across the state and country to develop innovative ideas to strengthen and diversify our perinatal workforce

EAST BRUNSWICK - First Lady Tammy Murphy will host her 7th annual Nurture NJ Leadership Summit in person in East Brunswick next Monday, December 9, bringing together experts from across the state and country to support New Jersey’s mission to become the safest, most equitable state in the nation to deliver and raise a baby.

“Over the past seven years, our Nurture NJ Leadership Summits have been an important resource in our work to make New Jersey the gold standard for maternal and infant health care. While we have made significant progress, moving New Jersey from 47th to 28th for maternal deaths and improving across other important indicators like breastfeeding, our work will not be finished until we are ranked first in the nation across every maternal and infant health benchmark,” said First Lady Tammy Murphy. “I am thrilled to host this year's summit in person and continue collaborating with our multitude of partners on innovative solutions to make the experience of having a baby safer, easier and more supportive for all New Jersey families. I look forward to a productive day of meaningful and constructive discussion regarding what comes next for Nurture NJ, the Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority, and all of our maternal and infant health work.”

This year’s theme focuses on strengthening and diversifying the perinatal workforce. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from nation-leading experts, join collaborative discussions and engage in thoughtful problem solving. The summit is set to welcome 700 national experts, doulas, hospital CEOs, health care providers, elected officials, activists, representatives from state departments and agencies, nonprofit leaders, moms, and more.
