Florida GOP Launches #RollbackNOW

Government and Politics

TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) has launched #RollbackNOW, a statewide initiative urging all Florida counties to adopt the rollback rate and provide immediate property tax relief to hardworking Floridians.

With local property tax revenues surging by over 50% in some counties, soaring home values and escalating tax bills have strained Florida families. While leaders explore long-term solutions, such as a potential 2026 ballot initiative to eliminate property taxes entirely, Floridians need relief now.

“Floridians are fed up with high property taxes eroding the American Dream. Since 2019, property taxes in Florida have skyrocketed, with some counties facing increases nearing 60%. These sharp hikes are putting intense financial pressure on Floridians-especially retirees and fixed-income households-who are now being priced out of homes they’ve lived in for decades,” said Chairman Evan Power. “The Republican Party of Florida stands with homeowners. After years of surging tax revenues, local governments must adopt the rollback rate to let hardworking Floridians keep more of their money.”

The rollback rate ensures local governments operate within their means, prioritizing essential services, cutting wasteful spending, and trimming bloated budgets-unlike tax increases hidden behind inflated property assessments.

“#RollbackNOW delivers immediate, meaningful relief to Florida families-not next year, but now,” Power added.

“Local governments have reaped windfalls from rising property values for too long. Enough is enough. Every Florida county should adopt the rollback rate or lower the millage rate. Floridians deserve respect and immediate tax relief, which is why we’re launching #RollbackNOW as a call to action,” Power said.
