From: Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra - Mount Dora/EustisThe Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra will present their romantic Valentine's Concerts on February 2 & 3.
This Valentine's Concert program will begin with the overture to a "Mid-Summer Night's Dream" by Mendelssohn, "Marriage of Figaro" Overture by Mozart, and "La Donna è Mobile" from Rigoletto by Verdi as sung by true Italian tenor, Marco Romano. This concert will share romantic, "Clair de Lune" by Claude Debussy and arranged by the FLSO's late founder, Guy Saint-Clair. This will be followed by the blockbuster romantic hit, "Love Is Blue" by Paul Mauriat with two additional movie hits, "Somewhere in Time" by John Barry and love theme "Cinema Paradiso. The second half of the program features Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera" and Marco Romano singing "Music of the Night". Love will be musically expressed with violin soloist Konstantin Dimitrov performing the "Schindler's List" theme by John Williams.
The evening will bring us back on a romantic track with music by Shostakovich: the beautiful "Waltz No 2," made so popular in the movie "Ghost". Timeless "Unchained Melody" will be performed. Konstantin Dimitrov will return with his violin solos with the extraordinary "Meditation" from Thais by Massenet. The evenings will be concluded by "Nessun Dorma" as sung by Marco Romano. This February concert will be an eclectic evening bringing the multiple facets of romance and love through the expression of live music by fabulously talented professional symphonic musicians.
Central Florida Concert Locations: On Thursday, February 2, the Valentine's Concert will be held at the Living Drama located on Highway 441 at Bustris Plaza in the back corner of 431 Plaza Drive in Eustis, Florida. The Friday, February 3 performance will be held at the Minneola City Hall located at: 800 US-27, Minneola, FL 34715. Concerts begin at 7:30 PM. Attendees are urged to arrive early for their choice of upfront seating. The ambiance is always cozy, being so close to the musicians.
Florida Lakes Symphony History: In 2005, the internationally respected classical concert pianist and composer Guy Saint-Clair came to Lake County from their home in Europe with his wife and portrait/wildlife artist Audrey Sanders. That same year they established Lake County's first professional symphony orchestra, the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra. Through the years, they have hosted a series of guest conductors from around the world. Virtuoso Bulgarian violinist Konstantin Dimitrov continues to anchor the orchestra since 2006 as Concert Master and soloist. With the immense guiding light and musical sense of the Founder, Guy Saint-Clair with supportive artistic and administrative skills of the co-founder, Audrey Sanders as Executive Director, this orchestra was established as a formidable force on the cultural scene of Central Florida. Dynamic New 18th Season: On March 9 & 10, Carl Topilow as their principal guest conductor performing with world-renown Virtuoso Bulgarian violinist Konstantin Dimitrov. They will be back to share an inspiring Irish program. The season will conclude on April 20 & 21 with a Spring Pops program conducted by Paul Hostetter.
Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra: Concert tickets are still only $42 in advance or $45 with cash or check at the door. Families of four inclusive of 2 Adults and 2 Students are only $50.
