From: City Of WinderEvent to feature food trucks, potion-making, and appearances by Glinda and Elphaba
WINDER, GA – The City of Winder invites the community to a magical evening under the stars as T.G.I.F.F. (Thank Goodness It's First Friday) returns with Movie Night on Friday, June 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Jackson Plaza. This event’s feature film is Wicked (PG), the musical that defies gravity and expectations. The free outdoor screening begins at 7 p.m., so bring your lawn chairs, cozy blankets, and get ready for a night of music, magic, and memorable moments.
Before the movie begins, don’t miss a special appearance by Glinda and Elphaba, who will be roaming the plaza for photos from 6 to 8 p.m. Plus, the first 150 kids can stop by our potion-making station and create a mini magical mix of glitter, sequins, stardust sand, and swirls of enchanted color—perfect for any young sorcerer-in-training.
“This event is a great way to celebrate school being out for the summer and share a little magic with the community,” said Talore Ruedt, Director of Events. “From meeting the witches to mixing potions and watching Wicked under the stars, there’s something fun for all ages.”
T.G.I.F.F. is a vibrant monthly event series in downtown Winder, held the first Fridays in May, June, August, September, and October. Each evening features a new theme along with live music, food trucks, and family-friendly entertainment—all free to the public.
This event is presented by Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Barrow.Special thanks to our event sponsors: Akins and ESG Operations, Inc.
