From: Planned Parenthood - Paterson CenterProfessional Parent Advocacy Training & Certification Program
NJPC is offering a FREE Professional Parent Advocacy Training program for pare grandparents, foster parents, and other caregivers raising children with emotional behavioral challenges who are involved in the mental health, juvenile justice and/or ch welfare system. Parents and caregivers attending the training are given the opportun to strengthen their knowledge of the systems that serve their families, their rights responsibilities within those systems, and the advocacy, professional, and collaborate skills needed to successfully negotiate those systems. Parents and family members become better able to advocate for themselves and their communities, resulting increased access to appropriate care and treatment for all children. The Professio Parent Advocacy Training is approved for foster, adoptive and kinship training ere through NJDCF. Lunch will be served or gift cards will be provided.
Early registration recommended. The training classes will be offered Virtually via Zoom OR at Mr. Gs K Community learning center in Paterson.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to use their newly trained skills to deliver Parent Advocacy Workshops in their local community with the support of NJPC and other certifies parents throughout the state.
