New Voices in French Cinema is back for its seventh edition, showcasing the exceptional talent of emerging filmmakers who are making their mark in French cinema. This year’s lineup highlights nine feature films from visionary storytellers and a selection of shorts from the latest edition of Quartiers Lointains, a short film touring program. The series opens with a Happy Hour on September 5 and closes with a fun Halloween Party on October 31.

Artist and filmmaker Lee Shulman’s immersive photography installation features an unprecedented number of vintage photographs and slides from the last 70 years.

From the director of the Academy Award winning La Vie En Rose, Simone: Woman of the Century follows the life of Simone Veil, holocaust survivor and eventual politician who advanced women’s rights and was instrumental in legalizing abortion in France. An intimate and epic portrait of an extraordinary woman who eminently challenged and transformed her era defending a humanist message that’s still keenly relevant today.
