Hello, Friends of the Library!

Even though it has been quite hot these past few weeks, the Friends of the Library have been busy, busy, busy arranging books, books, books, and more books for our Big Summer Book Sale! We have received so many great donations that we wanted to pass these delightful books on to you at a fabulous price!  The sale originally began in June and was extended into July. Well, we received more wonderful books in the meantime, so we are extending this book sale through the month of August!  So many choices for you to choose from that it is rather hard to pick out the ones you might like!  Now is the time to buy these books for gifts! They would be great for any occasion, and they are ONLY 25 cents each, paperbacks, and hardbacks!  Come by and fill up a bag! Hope to see you here SOON!

The Friends want to invite you to our Annual meeting on October 19 at 11:00a in the Terracotta Room.  Mark your calendars now so you can plan on attending. We will have a lite lunch and a short business meeting so you can see what the Friends actually do for our Community Library!  This is also an opportunity to renew your Friends of the Library membership. A reminder will be sent out closer to the 19th!  We are looking forward to seeing lots of you! Bring a friend or make a friend! We think you will be pleasantly surprised when you hear all the accomplishments that have happened this past year!

Get out of the heat and spend an hour browsing at the Sweet Pea Antique Mall. It's a good cool place in the summertime in more ways than one! There are lots of GREAT items throughout the whole venue! So many are absolutely beautiful! Don’t forget to stop by our Friends Library special corner while you are there. Ambie brings the best Vintage books and Collectibles that we receive from donations, directly to Sweet Pea. So, if you are looking for something unique, you might find it there! Happy shopping!

Once again, a great big thank you to Bashas' for continuing to sponsor the Bashas Community cards. We receive approximately $300 each month to go towards programs for the library. You just need to remember to reload your Bashas' Community Card when you are getting low.  It is so easy to reload!  Either go to the front desk or reload BEFORE you start checking out your groceries!  This DOES NOT cost you one penny!  Bashas uses their money!  THANK YOU, BASHAS!

Our Little Laundromat Library has been received by the town with open arms! There are books for adults and children. Remember, you can bring a book or take a book! Marianne checks it at least twice a week and restocks the 2 shelves so there are many choices to choose from to help pass the time while your laundry is being washed and dried! We are very thankful that she is diligent in this task every single week! Thank you, Marianne!

We have many ideas for the Fall. One will be a beautiful Fall quilt that will be raffled off, donated by Louise Clara. The colors are absolutely perfect for fall! It will be displayed in the front area of our library for all to check out!  More on this later!

By the way, our water catchment tank has been installed and is WORKING!  It is located on the east side of our library.  Come and take a look!

Hard to believe that school will begin soon! This summer has gone by so quickly! We wish everyone a nice rest of the summer!  Looking forward to seeing you visit our fabulous book sale. More news from Friends in September!
