ANSWER THIS:

If your business members are already paying $20 or more to your employees, then why is it shocking if a $20 minimum wage is mandated?

Dear Valued Members:

As you may know, a proposed Bill in the MA Legislature proposes to increase the minimum wage to $20/hour.

The Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, chaired by Senate Chair Patricia D Jehlen and House Chair Rep Josh Cutler recently held a public hearing to hear both sides.

With support from the GBCC Government Affairs Committee and approval from the Board of Directors, GBCC Board President Medley
Long III and Vice President Rich Vincent attended in person and presented arguments against the increase on behalf of our members, most of which are medium to “mom and pop” businesses. See the Patch article.
