Unless House Republicans can reach an agreement by tomorrow night, the government is set to shut down

DES MOINES - Iowa Republicans and Donald Trump promised to lower costs and give Iowans economic security.

Instead, it looks like the same old Washington nonsense is already taking hold as the government is facing yet another shutdown.

Joni Ernst is right - the Republican-led House deserves nothing more than a lump of coal for Christmas.

“Iowans who voted for Donald Trump believed his promise to bring down prices and provide economic security,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. “Unfortunately, even before he’s been sworn in, he’s causing chaos for farmers facing an ag economy slowdown, families planning to travel over the holidays, our men and women in uniform that won’t get paid, and seniors that rely on Social Security. Instead of doing their job, Iowa Republicans are part of the chaos and another Washington mess.”
