From: North Carolina Governor Roy CooperRALEIGH - On December 6, 2024, Governor Roy Cooper appointed the Honorable Sherri Elliott to serve as Superior Court Judge in Judicial District 19, serving Catawba County. Judge Elliott will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Greg Hayes.
“Judge Elliott brings a wealth of judicial and legal experience to the Superior Court and will continue to serve the people of Catawba County with distinction in this new role,” said Governor Cooper. “I am grateful for her commitment to continue working for the people of our state.”
Elliott currently serves as Chief District Court Judge in Judicial District 36. Previously, Elliott served as a District Court Judge in Judicial District 25 and as an attorney for Isenhower, Wood & Cilley, P.A. She was also appointed in 2023 by Governor Cooper to the Governor’s Crime Commission. Elliott received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Juris Doctorate from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
