Governor Cooper Announces Superior Court Appointment

RALEIGH - On December 13, 2024, Governor Roy Cooper appointed Douglas Green to serve as Superior Court Judge in Judicial District 17, serving Alamance County. Green will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Tom Lambeth.

“Judge Green’s has the experience and knowledge of the district to be a skilled Superior Court Judge,” said Governor Cooper. “I am grateful for his commitment to continue serving the people of Alamance County.”

Green currently serves as District Court Judge in District 17. Previously, Green served as an Assistant Attorney General in the North Carolina Department of Justice. Additionally, he worked as an attorney with Smith Giles, PLLC, and in the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office. Green received his Bachelor of Arts from Duke University, his Masters in Business Administration from Elon University and his Juris Doctor from the North Carolina Central University School of Law.
