January 16, 2025

From: Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy

To honor the presidential inauguration, Governor Dunleavy has directed that both the U.S. and Alaska flags at the Capitol and state buildings be raised to full staff from sunrise on January 20 to sunrise on January 21, 2025. This marks a moment to celebrate the peaceful transition of power and the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump.

Following this observance, flags will return to half-staff at sunrise on January 21 to continue honoring the life and legacy of former President Jimmy Carter during the national period of mourning.
