Highlights proposal to raise tax exemption to $3 million for small businesses, farms, ranches

East Helena, MT – Rounding out National Agriculture Week, Governor Greg Gianforte on March 20th, visited with kindergarten students at Eastgate Elementary School in East Helena to highlight the important role of Montana farmers and ranchers in feeding the world.

“Thanks to our hardworking ag producers, Montana’s world-class beef, wheat, grains, and other products nourish the world,” Gov. Gianforte said. “This National Ag Week, Montanans of all ages join in saying thank you to the generations of farmers and ranchers for their hard work and dedication.”

Visiting Ms. Salerno’s kindergarten class on Thursday afternoon, the governor read Tales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck's Ice Cream Wish for students to learn about dairy farming and the hard work it takes to make ice cream.

This week, Gov. Gianforte proclaimed the week of March 16 to 22 as Montana Agriculture Week to celebrate the state’s number one industry of agriculture. You can view the proclamation here.
