Governor Lombardo Announces Appointment of Jason Woodbury to First Judicial District, Dept. I

Carson City, NV -- On November 19, 2024, Governor Joe Lombardo announced Jason Woodbury as his selection to the First Judicial District Court, Department I. Woodbury currently serves as District Attorney for Carson City, where he has served since he was first elected in November 2014.

“I’m pleased to announce my appointment of Jason Woodbury to the First Judicial District Court, Department I,” said Governor Joe Lombardo. “Jason’s commitment to his community is unparalleled, and I’m confident he will serve with integrity and honor, just as he always has as District Attorney.”

“I am profoundly honored by Governor Lombardo’s appointment,” said Woodbury. “The First Judicial District holds a sacred place in my heart, and I will work hard to be worthy of the standard of excellence Judge Russell has set for this office.”

Prior to his service as District Attorney, Woodbury served as Deputy District Attorney in both the criminal and civil divisions of the Carson City District Attorney’s office and as a partner in a statewide law firm for over a decade. A northern Nevada native, Woodbury earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and his law degree from the University of Utah.

Woodbury is a member of the Nevada District Attorney’s Association and a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Western Nevada affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. An active community member, Woodbury also served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada from 2003 to 2017.

Woodbury takes office on Monday, December 2, 2024.
