From: Delaware Governor Matt MeyerWILMINGTON - Governor Matt Meyer announced today the nomination of Judge Eric M. Davis to serve as the new President Judge of the Superior Court of Delaware. Judge Davis, who has served on the Superior Court since December 21, 2012, brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished record of service to this leadership role.?
“Judge Davis has demonstrated exceptional dedication and judicial acumen throughout his tenure on the bench,” said Governor Meyer. “His extensive experience and commitment to justice make him a great choice to lead our Superior Court into the future.”?
Judge Davis earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in 1985 and graduated with honors from Emory University School of Law in 1992. He began his legal career at Miles & Stockbridge, P.C. in Baltimore, Maryland, before joining Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in 1996, where he became a partner. In April 2010, Judge Davis was appointed to the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware, serving until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2012.?
During his tenure on the Superior Court, Judge Davis has presided over numerous complex cases and has been recognized for his fair and balanced approach to the law. Notably, he chaired the Complex Commercial Litigation Division, handling intricate business disputes and reinforcing Delaware’s reputation as a premier venue for corporate litigation.?

Judge Davis’ appointment follows the retirement of former President Judge Jan R. Jurden. Judge Davis’ term as President Judge will commence upon Senate Confirmation and upon taking his oath of office.? The Superior Court of Delaware handles a wide range of civil and criminal cases.
