TRENTON - Governor Murphy On June 21, 2025 lifted the State of Emergency declared through Executive Order No. 383 on March 8, 2025 due to multiple sinkholes and voids on Interstate 80 (“I-80”) caused by the collapse of abandoned mines in and around the area of the Borough of Wharton, following the full re-opening of I-80. 

With the signing of Executive Order No. 391, the State of Emergency will be terminated in Morris County effective at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
