DENVER - On September 17, 2024, Governor Polis kicked off Denver Startup Week, highlighting the importance of small businesses and startups to Colorado’s strong economy and what the Polis administration has done to support startups in the innovative sectors of today and in the future.
“Colorado’s strong economy and leadership in innovative industries is strengthened by small businesses, entrepreneurs, and startups. Encouraging startups will ensure Colorado’s innovation continues to lead the nation in technologies including Quantum, AI, and more. By making it easier and cheaper to start a business in Colorado we have created an innovative and dynamic environment for thriving businesses in every sector,” said Governor Polis.
After highlighting how Colorado supports startups and small businesses, Governor Polis visited three businesses on Santa Fe in Denver. Governor Polis visited Petals & Pages, an independent bookstore and florist, Museo De Las Americas, a Latin-American Art Gallery, and Su Teatro Cultural & Performing Arts Center. Governor Polis visited Museo De Las America and Su Teatro during Hispanic Heritage Month, which began on September 15th, to celebrate Colorado’s rich Latin-American culture and community.
“Small businesses drive our success, create good jobs, and provide Coloradans with welcoming gathering spaces in our communities. These businesses are three of the thousands of small businesses in Colorado that bring our community together,” said Governor Polis.
