Governor Shapiro Takes His Commonsense Budget Proposal to Every Corner of the Commonwealth with Statewide Media Appearances

Governor Shapiro took his message to Pennsylvanians in all six media markets, answering questions and sharing his vision for a more competitive Commonwealth.

“Pennsylvania is on the rise. This budget is a roadmap for continuing the momentum we’ve built over the last two years. It’s about tackling the challenges we face and moving forward towards more growth and prosperity, together."

Harrisburg, PA – After presenting his 2025-26 budget proposal to the General Assembly on Tuesday, Governor Josh Shapiro took to the airwaves all across the Commonwealth to connect with Pennsylvanians and share his vision for the state’s future. The Governor participated in interviews with news outlets in all six Pennsylvania media markets, ensuring folks were able to hear him answer questions and speak directly about the details of his budget and how it will benefit their communities.

Governor Shapiro’s budget proposal focuses on commonsense solutions to the problems facing Pennsylvanians – including expanding our workforce, reducing costs in healthcare, housing, and energy, and driving economic growth. In his budget address, the Governor reflected on the progress achieved in his first two years in office, emphasizing the importance of bipartisan cooperation in solving problems for Pennsylvanians and addressing the Commonwealth’s most pressing challenges. 

This budget builds on the foundation the Shapiro Administration has constructed over the past two years to move Pennsylvania forward, as Governor Shapiro continues to work across the aisle to get stuff done and ensure all Pennsylvanians have the freedom to chart their own course and the opportunity to succeed.

Philadelphia (NBC10) Interview: In Southeastern Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro discussed how the budget will support workforce development, economic growth, public safety initiatives, and create opportunity.

Pittsburgh (KDKA) Interview: In Southwestern Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro highlighted investments in economic development, public schools, mass transit, and public safety.

Harrisburg (FOX43) Interview: In Central Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro talked about the importance of growth initiatives, such as workforce development and childcare investments, along with tax cuts.

Scranton (WNEP) Interview: In Northeastern Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro outlined economic development, supporting small businesses, and public safety.

Erie (WJET) Interview: In Northwestern Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro spoke about tax cuts, economic growth, and fiscal responsibility.

Johnstown / Altoona (WJAC) Interview: In Western Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro spoke about the budget proposal prioritizing education, agriculture, public safety and economic development, as well as new revenue sources.

In addition, Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis participated in radio interviews with Philadelphia’s Wake Up with WURD and Pittsburgh’s The Big K Morning Show highlighting the budget’s focus on early childhood education, afterschool programs, and community-based initiatives to address gun violence. Lt. Gov. Davis also talked about the Shapiro-Davis Administration’s continued commitment to strengthening local communities and creating safer, more supportive environments for children and families across the state.
