Raleigh, NC -- On April 30th, Governor Josh Stein announced the following judicial appointment: 

Tracey Henderson to the District Court for Judicial District 14, serving Cumberland County. Henderson is filling the vacancy created after Governor Stein appointed the Honorable Stephen Stokes to the Superior Court earlier this year. 

  • Henderson is a litigator with particular expertise in family law and criminal law. She has also served as an Appeals Hearing Officer for the city of Fayetteville and on the city’s Ethics Commission. Henderson is a U.S. Army veteran and the current President of the Cumberland County Bar Association. She received her B.S. from Fayetteville State University and her J.D. from Western Michigan University.  

“Tracey has valuable skills and experience that will support her work in Cumberland County,” said Governor Josh Stein. “She is the right person for the job, and I look forward to her service.”
