Governor Walz Appoints Beverly Luther Quast to the Tax Court

ST. PAUL, MN - Governor Tim Walz today announced the appointment of Beverly Luther Quast as a judge of the Minnesota Tax Court for a six-year term.

“It is my privilege to appoint Beverly Luther Quast to the Minnesota Tax Court,” said Governor Walz. “She has a wealth of tax law experience that will help the court resolve the most challenging matters that come before it. Her entire legal career has been focused on mastering the complexities of our tax system to ensure that they are administered consistently for individuals and businesses.”

About Beverly Luther Quast
Beverly Luther Quast is a vice president of tax planning at U.S. Bank, where she advises on tax aspects of business transactions, mergers, and acquisitions. She was previously senior tax counsel at 3M Company, where she advised on federal, state, and international tax matters related to supply chain, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, and compliance. Luther Quast has also worked as an international tax counsel at Ameriprise Financial, as a senior international tax consultant at Deloitte Tax, LLP, and was an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota, where she taught corporate taxation law.?Her community involvement includes mentoring new law students and tax lawyers, providing pro bono tax counsel, serving on her synagogue's finance committee, and volunteering for her college alumnae association. Luther Quast previously served as chair of the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association and as an adjunct professor of corporate taxation at the University of Minnesota Law School. She earned her B.A. from Wellesley College, her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, and her LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law.
