From: Minnesota Governor Timothy James WalzST. PAUL, MN - Governor Tim Walz on July 1, 2025 announced the authorization of emergency assistance for areas of St. Louis County that suffered damage caused by wildfires in May.
“The fires that spread across Northern Minnesota earlier this year caused severe damage and major loss,” said Governor Walz. “I’m grateful for Minnesota’s emergency management team as they work closely with St. Louis County to assess the damage and help communities recover.”
Areas of St. Louis County are receiving emergency assistance for significant damage caused by wildfires between May 11 and May 24, 2025. Funding and public assistance will aid in rebuilding public infrastructure damaged by the fires. The total assistance will be determined once all damage assessments are complete.
