ST. PAUL, MN - Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the application process for Metropolitan Council District 12 and District 15 seats.

Interested and eligible applicants must submit application materials via the Secretary of State’s website by 4:00 PM on Friday, February 14.

About the Metropolitan Council
The Metropolitan Council is a state-funded regional planning agency that serves the Twin Cities' seven-county metropolitan area. The Council’s mission is to help ensure the orderly, economical development of the seven-county area and the efficient use of regional systems which include transportation, water (wastewater collection and treatment) and regional parks.

The Metropolitan Council’s 16 district members each represent a geographically defined?Metropolitan Council district. District members must reside in the districts they represent. They must also reflect the various demographic, political, and other interests in the metropolitan area, and they must be knowledgeable about urban and metropolitan affairs.
