GROTON PUBLIC LIBRARY TO HOST FREDERICK DOUGLASS EXHIBITION

GROTON, Conn. - The Groton Public Library will be hosting “Frederick Douglass: Advocate for Equality,” a six-panel traveling exhibition that features an exploration of the full trajectory of his epic life from 1818 to 1895. The exhibit, developed by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and made possible by the Charles H. Revson Foundation, will open on February 5 and close on March 1.

Viewers can learn about Frederick Douglass’s escape from slavery, his work as an abolitionist, and his tireless fight for equality for all individuals in the Jim Crow era. Explore Douglass’s impact and his life through his own words and in photographs and documents from the Gilder Lehrman Collection.
