Supporters Can Help Double the Donation to $10,000 by Voting for Their Agent Giving Story

Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Guardian Insurance Group a 2025 Make More Happen Award for its dedicated support of Suits for Soldiers Lake of the Ozarks, a local nonprofit that provides veterans with professional attire to help ease their transition to civilian life. This recognition includes a $5,000 donation to Suits for Soldiers, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online support from the community. 

The Guardian Insurance Group and Suits for Soldiers story is featured on the official Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/guardian-insurance-group/, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the story receives at least 500 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 donation will be increased to $10,000. These funds will help provide nearly 70 brand-new suits and expand outreach to veterans in rural Missouri communities. 

“Our agency serves as a friendly guide to help clients protect what matters most and provide hope in difficult times,” said Paula Nienhueser, co-owner of Guardian Insurance Group. “We want to offer that same feeling to local veterans. Every suit we provide represents respect, gratitude, and a fresh start for veterans who’ve given so much.” 

Since co-founding Suits for Soldiers Lake of the Ozarks in 2018, Guardian Insurance Group has played a hands-on role in the nonprofit’s operations. Staff members meet weekly to coordinate fundraising and events, manage all communications, organize inventory, and volunteer during suit distribution events to ensure each veteran receives personal care. The agency also recruits volunteers, many of whom return annually, and supports other veteran-focused programs such as Honor Flight, the Support Our Troops Boat Fundraiser, and H.E.R.O.E.S. Care. 

One of the most moving experiences for the team came when a veteran requested a suit not for an interview, but to be buried in—a powerful reminder of the deep emotional impact this program has on those it serves.

Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
