The new GYMGUYZ location is owned by Erica Rivera, a local entrepreneur with a passion for fitness. After 15 years in the telecommunications industry, Rivera was thriving in her role when a downturn in the company ultimately led to her departure. While the layoff was unexpected, it turned out to be the turning point she needed to chase her long-held dream of becoming a business owner. This bold move brought her to South Florida, where she is now excited to bring GYMGUYZ to the local community.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rivera embarked on her own fitness journey, losing 35 pounds through a combination of exercise and nutrition. Fitness became her refuge—an anchor during a time of uncertainty. It also helped her build a routine and discipline that many struggle to establish when starting their wellness journey.

Inspired by her personal transformation, Rivera discovered GYMGUYZ and was immediately drawn to its innovative approach, along with its strong corporate support and leadership. She saw it as the perfect opportunity to blend her entrepreneurial spirit with her passion for helping others lead healthier lives

“As I transformed my own health, fitness became my foundation—something I now rely on every day,” said Rivera. “If you’d told me ten years ago that I’d be here, I wouldn’t have believed it. But that personal journey is why I’m opening a GYMGUYZ location. It’s not just about business—it’s about helping others take charge of their health and start their own transformations. I’m excited to support my community in achieving their fitness goals.”

GYMGUYZ uses a variety of customized fitness programs, including strength training, cardio, sports conditioning, weight loss and toning, senior fitness, youth and teen fitness, assisted stretch, and nutrition counseling to help people reach their health goals. Training sessions are available to both individuals and groups like couples and families. GYMGUYZ’s nationally accredited Certified Personal Trainers are fitness experts that employ various techniques and tools to ensure clients get excellent results.
