From: Harmonium Choral Society

Meet ShowFocused, LLC

They create all of Harmonium’s high quality videos, publish them onto our YouTube channel and post our music on a variety of streaming services like Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music. They are a family of musicians and performers who have mastered audio/visual production.

A BIT OF ROPER FAMILY HISTORY WITH HARMONIUM

The Roper family was introduced to Harmonium Choral Society in March of 2006, when son Eric was part of the New Jersey Youth Chorus Intermediate Choir.  NJYC was invited to sing in the “A Wealth of Blessings” concert.  By 2009 Ted, Paula & Caitlyn were all singing with Harmonium Choral Society and as Eric and Will reached 9th grade, they joined Harmonium as well.

WHAT IS STREAMING?

You can listen to audio tracks of Harmonium’s concert music anytime and anywhere! We are “Streaming” on your favorite streaming platform. That means you do not need a CD or a CD player to listen to Harmonium’s music. You can listen from your smartphone or download it onto any device you choose. One of the Dan Karger AV Fund’s goals is to have all of Harmonium’s music accessible on any platform. Harmonium will look to this Fund to accomplish this goal. If you are new to streaming, this is what you need to do listen Harmonium’s music on your phone, iPad, computer, etc.

HOW TO STREAM

IT’S EASY ONCE YOU KNOW WHERE TO LOOK!

Here is how:

1. Choose a music service app (Spotify or Apple Music) from Apple, Amazon Music  or Google Play.

  • Download it to your smartphone or tablet. There is a free version, with limited access, or a subscription. The subscription will allow you access to all of our music.

2. Search for Harmonium Choral Society on that app and press enter.  You should get a list of albums to choose from.

  • Click “Play”.  You can choose to listen to the whole album, or individual tracks.  You can create your own playlist, or you can download it to your account/device. Downloading the music does have a fee, and generates income for Harmonium.

3. You can search for a soloist, a composer or an instrumentalist who performed on the album.

  • Be aware of “Harmonium Choral Society Radio” which gives you a channel that includes some Harmonium tracks, but not exclusively. It is mixed with other music that sounds similar to Harmonium.

SO WHAT IS YouTube?

YouTube is the world's leading digital video-sharing platform, allowing users to upload, watch and share content for free. ShowFocus prepares audio and video recordings of all of Harmonium’s concerts, and then in partnership with Artistic Director Anne Matlack creates a final video recording to preserve our work. They then publish, describe, caption and organize these on our YouTube channel. It is quite a long and detailed process from start to finish. Another goal of The Dan Karger AV Fund is to ensure the quality of these productions to help preserve our legacy.

The above is a Seal of Authenticity. WHAT IS THAT?

Let’s get technical here.

WE HAVE MANY Seals of Authenticity.  It is proof that we have paid licensing fees to composers and arrangers of the music recorded and streamed or produced as CDs by Harmonium.  Most of the music performed by Harmonium Choral Society is not original to us, so purchase of the music for performance does not cover the rights to stream or digitally download our recordings.  The seal also shows that our music is listed in The International Database of Licensed Music.

The International Database of Licensed Music (IDBLM.org) is a site dedicated to transparency in music licensing. It provides a public record of licensed works and displays the Proof of Licensing obtained for each release. Its goal is to reward artists that release music legally. The seal will be displayed at concerts and on our website and CDs to show that we are licensing the music we perform.
