Harvard Art Museums Happenings for August 2024

Arts and Entertainment

August 9, 2024

From: Harvard Art Museums

As we head into the final month of summer, we invite you to explore the rich textiles and intricate album paintings in Imagine Me and You: Dutch and Flemish Encounters with the Islamic World, 1450–1750 before the exhibition closes on Sunday, August 18. Check out this review that captures its ambitious approach to tracing the cross-cultural connections between the Islamic world and the Low Countries. You can also attend an upcoming exhibition tour or gallery talk to dig a little deeper.

While you’re here, join in a conversation about the common household nail in Günther Uecker’s work Spiral White (1963) or explore the journeys of funerary portraits from Roman Egypt in a gallery talk.

Next month, we launch Made in Germany? Art and Identity in a Global Nation, a powerful exhibition that grapples with the complexities of modern German identity after 1980.
