From: Hay Creek Apple FestivalHomemade apple pies, apple dumplings, apple crisp, apple fritters, apple cider, chicken pot pie and Mabel’s kettle-cooked soups (ham & bean, beef vegetable and chicken noodle) are available to purchase to take home or to eat at the festival. An all you can eat apple pancake breakfast with sausage will take place Saturday and Sunday morning from 7 to 11 am and will be served in our inside dining area.
Families will also enjoy scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, old fashion wagon rides, and Hay Creek’s apple barrel express ride! (In the event of rain some of these activities may be operating on a limited basis.). Scarecrow kits will also be available to purchase to take home to build! The Joanna Furnace buildings will also be open with living history presentations and demonstrations.
HAY CREEK APPLE BAKING CONTEST RETURNS IN 2023!
After a 3-year absence the Hay Creek Apple Dessert Contest will return and take place on Saturday morning at the Apple Festival. The Apple Dessert Contest is open to all those who love to create their own special desserts. Bring your entries: pies, cakes, breads & muffins and desserts to the Festival Food Court area between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. And don’t forget to include your detailed recipe along with your entry. Judging will take place at 10 am. Winners in each category will receive $30!
