From: Helping Our WomenGreetings Friend,
Here at Helping Our Women we've been busy and this year we are celebrating 30 years improving access to healthcare and well-being for women living with chronic or serious health conditions on the Outer Cape!
Perhaps the news I'm most pleased to share is that we are one of 20 organizations selected from 110 letters of intent submitted to Barnstable County for funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). We will be receiving $207,241 from the County over the course of the coming year to support our expansion with funding for additional staff, as well as HOW's first ever transit vehicle!

In addition to our ongoing services for nearly 300 women, we've been working on renovation plans for our Eastham office where we will be opening the Ann Maguire Women's Wellness Center once construction is completed -- see below for a save the date to honor Ann Maguire on July 27th. We've also made some upgrades to our database and excel reporting capabilities so that we can more easily share the news of our impact as demonstrated by the infographics below that will be included in our Annual Report to be distributed at our Annual Meeting on July 20th at 5:30pm at Seamen's Bank, Commercial Street where we will share historic HOW news and honor the 2023 Betty Villari Community Service Award recipient.
Keep reading for more updates and stop by the office to drop off something for our Personal Products Pantry Drive...or simply to say hello! Many thanks to you for your engagement as a part of the Helping Our Women community. -Gwynne
Personal Care Pantry Drive This Week!
We are partnering once again with the team at b\well to host a drive for our Personal Products Pantry!
HOW operates a Food and Personal Care Products Pantry - open to anyone in need from Eastham to Provincetown. While SNAP helps address food insecurity - a major challenge in our rural community - these benefits don't cover essential non-food items such as toothpaste, menstrual pads, bath soap, household cleaner, etc. You can support community members by donating unopened products to one of our drop-off bins and our tables.

Farewells & Welcomes
The How Community says a grateful farewell to newly graduated MSW, Ella Anderson!
Ella has touched many lives on the Outer Cape and we wish her the best in her next professional endeavor. We have been fortunate to learn with her and from her as she completed her Masters in Social Work and as she noted: she is leaving her job but she is not leaving the HOW community.
"I will miss her optimism, youthfulness, and excitement, along with all the good she’s done for the women of the HOW community!”
- Mary Berry, HOW office manager.
Welcome, Teri - our New Client Services Manager!
Teri Nezbeth returned to Provincetown in 2021 after living in New Orleans for 10 years. While in New Orleans, Teri received her BA in human services advocacy from UMass Amherst and worked in human services and public safety. Teri is currently focusing on her MS as a clinical mental health counselor at New England College. Teri loves the beach, boating, and spending time with her wife and their three cats, Patrick, Penny, and Laverne. She is excited to be back in Provincetown and looks forward to working with Helping Our Women.
